Germany’s Sandra Gal has held on to a two-shot lead over Jiyai Shin of South Korea in the Kia Classic since Gal birdied the par-three eighth hole.

The leaders, playing in the final group, are headed now to the second-to-last par-three hole of the round, the 146-yard 13th hole. Another South Korean, Na Yeon Choi, was close enough to hope, still, holding on to third place at 12 under through 12 holes, but she bogeyed the 13th hole to fall to 11 under.

Meanwhile the top-ranked American in the world, Cristie Kerr, has moved to a tie for fourth (she was tied for 12th at the start of the day) and is working on a round of six under so far today. Kerr is tied with I.K. Kim.
