WNBA: The Phoenix Mercury signs former Sparks player Marie Ferdinand-Harris

Marie_187 After she spent the last three seasons with the Sparks, the Phoenix Mercury signed free agent Marie Ferdinand-Harris, the Mercury announced Thursday.

Ferdinand-Harris, a nine-year WNBA veteran, became an important part of the Sparks offensive production last season after Candace Parker suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in June. She averaged 8.9 points and 2.7 rebounds a game.

The 5-foot-9 guard is a three-time WNBA All-Star. She was originally selected eighth overall in the 2001 draft by the Utah Starzz.
