UCLA’s recruiting class got a boost as defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds said he will sign with the Bruins.

McReynolds, from St. John’s College in Washington D.C., is the 28th-ranked defensive tackle nationally, according to rivals.com. McReynolds, who is 6-foot-2 and weighs 281 pounds, was a high priority for UCLA, with both Coach Rick Neuheisel and defensive line coach Todd Howard traveling to Washington last week to see him.

McReynolds also considered Syracuse, Kansas State and Mississippi State.

Earlier Wednesday, UCLA lost out on defensive lineman Jalen Grimble, who picked Miami, and linebacker Tony Steward, who picked Clemson.
