An ESPN report that the Lakers were in preliminary talks with Denver for the Nuggets’ unhappy all-star forward, Carmelo Anthony, was quickly rebuffed by the Lakers.

The report said the deal would revolve around Andrew Bynum for Anthony, though a team source told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday that the Lakers were unwilling to trade the 23-year-old center who has been plagued by knee problems.
