Lakers forward Pau Gasol made the All-Star team as a reserve, but Lamar Odom did not.
Gasol is averaging 18.4 points and 10.6 rebounds and shooting 51.5% this season. He is eighth in the NBA with 1.92 blocked shots a game.
Gasol, 30, made the All-Star team the previous two years with the Lakers and in 2006 with Memphis.
Odom, 31, is averaging 15.4 points and 9.6 rebounds and shooting a noteworthy 56.6%. He was in the starting lineup for 32 games because of injuries to center Andrew Bynum.
Many within the Lakers organization hoped this would be the year Odom became an All-Star. Now in his 12th season, Odom has still never made the All-Star team.
There’s a small chance Odom could still make the All-Star team as the Commissioner’s selection, a special pick by David Stern to replace injured center Yao Ming, who was voted into the game as a starter by fans. It is not known when Stern’s selection will be announced, though it will probably be for a center.
Forwards Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City and Carmelo Anthony of Denver were chosen by fans to be starters on the Western Conference All-Stars, as was Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.
The All-Star Game will be Feb. 20 at Staples Center.
