Last year’s Ryder Cup captain, once a UCLA golf star and presently a 51-year-old mostly committed to playing the Champion’s Tour, Corey Pavin just became the eighth man tied for first at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club.

Pavin eagled the 503-yard par-five first hole (Pavin’s 10th) by holing out from the rough about 10 yards from the hole. Pavin had birdied the two holes before his eagle.
