After a one-year absence, autumn racing will be returning to Santa Anita after the California Horse Racing Board voted Thursday to award this year’s racing dates of Sept. 28 to Nov. 6 to the Santa Anita-based Pacific Racing Assn.

The Oak Tree Racing Assn. has run the traditional autumn meeting for 40 years but moved to Hollywood Park last year and was scheduled to return to Hollywood Park this year.

Santa Anita is committed to making a ‘financial accommodation’ to Oak Tree, according to Scott Daruty, an executive for MI Developments, which runs Santa Anita.
