USC football: Receiver Markeith Ambles returns to team

Receiver Markeith Ambles, who Coach Lane Kiffin said in November was no longer part of USC's program, has returned to the Trojans, the school announced.

Ambles, a sophomore from Georgia, played in four games and caught one pass in 2010. He also was suspended for missing classes and tutoring sessions.

"After going home for Christmas break and thinking things through, Markeith decided to return to our football program and continue his education at USC," Kiffin said in a statement.

USC also announced that receiver Thearon Collier has left the program. Collier transferred to USC from Miami during the 2010 season. He did not play because of NCAA transfer rules that require athletes to sit out a season.
