UCLA women pull away for 61-42 victory over USC

January 8, 2011 |  3:30 pm

Uscuclawomen_350 It wasn't much of a rivalry Saturday.

The 12th-ranked UCLA women's basketball team continually ratcheted up the defensive pressure and cruised to a 61-42 victory over USC on Saturday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins (13-1 overall, 3-0 Pacific 10 Conference) forced 20 turnovers and held the Trojans (10-4, 2-1) to 27.9% shooting to win their third consecutive game in the rivalry.

Forward Jasmine Dixon scored 20 points and guard Doreena Campbell added 13 for UCLA, which led by as many as 25 points in the second half.

Ashley Corral led USC with 14 points. The Bruins outrebounded the Trojans, 43-32.
