UCLA football: Bruins interview Randy Shannon for defensive coordinator job [Updated]

Former University of Miami Coach Randy Shannon is being interviewed for the UCLA defensive coordinator job on Sunday, according to a person inside the program who was not authorized to speak on the subject.

[For the record at 12:37 p.m.: An earlier version of this post stated that Randy Shannon's interview with UCLA was Saturday. It is scheduled for Sunday.]

Shannon was fired in November after four seasons as the Hurricanes’ coach. He had a 28-22 record. Shannon received a four-year contract extension prior to the 2010 season and reportedly received a $1.5-million buyout.

Shannon was Miami’s defensive coordinator for six seasons before being named head coach.

Chuck Bullough was fired as UCLA defensive coordinator in December.
