UCLA Coach Ben Howland said Tuesday that junior guard Lazeric Jones’ bothersome finger should not hinder his shooting the rest of the season.

‘He shot it great this morning,’ Howland said.

Howland said Jones was tentative after injuring the middle finger of his right hand in the first half against Washington on Dec. 31 but that his hesitancy shouldn’t be an issue going forward.

‘Now he kind of knows what it is,’ said Howland, adding that Jones was scheduled to undergo a precautionary X-ray on Tuesday. Jones will also wear a splint 24 hours a day on the finger.
