Lazeric Jones couldn’t make a shot against Arizona.

He can’t miss against Arizona State.

The UCLA junior guard has made all four of his shots to lead the Bruins to a 32-19 halftime lead over the Sun Devils on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.

Jones made both of his three-pointers, including one from NBA range, on the way to 11 points. Sophomore forward Reeves Nelson has eight points for the Bruins, who shot 50% to Arizona State’s 20% -- a season low for a UCLA opponent in one half.

Bruins sophomore forward Tyler Honeycutt, playing despite experiencing flu-like symptoms, had four points and six rebounds in 15 minutes. He did not seem to lack energy, though he was beaten on several drives to the basket by Arizona State’s Trent Lockett, who led the Sun Devils with seven points.

Arizona State was severely hurt by guard Ty Abbott’s foul trouble. Abbott missed both of his shots and did not score while picking up three fouls in only six first-half minutes.

UCLA would have had an even larger lead had it not committed 10 turnovers. But the Bruins dominated in the rebounding department, getting 24 to Arizona State’s 14.
