Leslie Frazier is no longer interim head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. He now is simply the head coach.

The Vikings announced Monday that Frazier, 51, will be the eighth coach in the franchise’s 50-year history. The onetime defensive coordinator for the team went 3-3 after taking over when Brad Childress was fired on Nov. 22.

Minnesota players are said to have pushed for Frazier to get the job. Owner Zigi Wilf said the organization has ‘great respect’ for the new coach and praised his ‘vast knowledge of the game.’
