Washington Wizards' Hilton Armstrong suspended for a game

Washington Wizards' backup center Hilton Armstrong has been suspended for a game after committing a flagrant foul during a game against the Miami Heat on Monday.

The foul happened with just under a minute remaining in the third quarter. Armstrong shoved Joel Anthony with both hands while he was off-balance in the air, attempting a layup. Anthony slammed onto the hardwood on his side, then rolled onto his stomach.

Armstrong then held out his hand, gesturing to help Anthony stand up -- but before Anthony could respond, Juwan Howard pushed Armstrong to the ground. The referees then immediately intervened, breaking up the ensuing confrontation. The Heat went on to win, 105-94.

Armstrong will serve the suspension Wednesday night, when Washington plays the Raptors in Toronto.
