USC football: Robert Woods named Sporting News freshman All-American

Postseason honors for USC receiver Robert Woods continue to roll in.

Woods, who was selected as the Pacific 10 Conference offensive freshman of the year last week, was named Wednesday to the Sporting News freshman All-American team.

Woods caught 64 passes for 786 yards and six touchdowns. He also averaged 25.6 yards per kickoff return.

The Sporting News team also included Miami’s Seantrel Henderson, an offensive tackle who committed to USC but then asked Coach Lane Kiffin to be released from his scholarship.
