Sparingly used sophomore forward Evan Smith will miss the rest of USC’s season after undergoing successful left shoulder surgery Dec. 23, the school announced Monday.

Smith had the glenoid labrum in the shoulder repaired by Dr. Thomas Vangsness at USC Hospital.

The Calabasas native is the Trojans’ only sophomore on scholarship. He has been unable to practice since early in the preseason and hasn’t played in any games this season. He played in only eight games last season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds.
