Unbeaten Timothy Bradley of Palm Springs will defend his world junior-welterweight title Jan. 29 at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich., Bradley promoter Gary Shaw told the Times on Wednesday.

The fight will be televised by HBO. The Silverdome, former home of the NFL Detroit Lions, will be configured to seat 15,000 people, Shaw said.

Bradley (26-0, 11 KOs) will confront the most serious threat to his title in the gifted Alexander (21-0, 13 KOs), from St. Louis.

Choosing the site was a drawn-out process involving Alexander’s promoter Don King. Atlanta and Miami were also considered as sites.
