Last 'Battle in the Ballroom' boxing card will be held Friday

Boxing promoter Roy Englebrecht is closing his 26-year "Battle in the Ballroom" fight cards with Friday night's show at the Irvine Marriott.

Englebrecht will transition to a bimonthly boxing/MMA series at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa starting Feb. 24.

"Fight Club OC" will be staged at the fair's venue known as The Hangar, and it will offer exclusive ringside suites among other perks for season-ticket holders.
