Tim Lincecum retired the Texas Rangers on six pitches as the Rangers and San Francisco Giants remained scoreless after two innings Monday in World Series Game 5.

Cliff Lee, demonstrating why he’s the staff ace for Texas, also retired the side in order in the top of the second inning at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

But Pat Burrell, who returned to the lineup as the Giants’ designated hitter after being benched Sunday, hit a hard line drive to left fielder David Murphy. Burrell entered the game having struck out in eight of nine previous at-bats in the series.
