The University of California Board of Regents has approved a two-year contract extension for Norm Chow, offensive coordinator of the UCLA football team.

The extension is believed to be worth about $500,00 per year.

The extension was approved by the regents last week and UCLA was notified on Monday, but Athletic Director Dan Guerrero, who was traveling with the basketball team, was not informed until Wednesday, a UCLA spokesman said.

Chow and UCLA agreed on the extension in July.
