Lisa Leslie, Michael Strahan to be honored at March of Dimes luncheon in N.Y.

Leslie_300 Lisa Leslie will be honored as sportswoman of the year and Michael Strahan as sportsman of the year at the 27th annual March of Dimes sports luncheon on Dec. 1 in New York.

Leslie, a four-time Olympic gold medalist and three-time WNBA MVP, led the league in scoring (6,263) and rebounding (3,307) when she retired in 2009.

Strahan was a seven-time Pro Bowler for the New York Giants and earned NFL defensive player of the year honors in 2001 after recording a single-season record 22.5 sacks. He's currently an analyst on "Fox NFL Sunday."

Past award recipients have included Mickey Mantle, Cal Ripken Jr., Andre Agassi, Venus Williams, Patrick Ewing and Annika Sorenstam. Reservations for the luncheon can be made by calling (212) 353-1143 or e-mailing jcarlo@marchofdimes.com.
