World Series Game 3 update: Ross homer trims Rangers' lead to 4-1 over Giants in seventh inning

October 30, 2010 |  6:22 pm

The San Francisco Giants finally scored in the seventh inning on Cody Ross' solo home run to trim the Texas Rangers' lead to 4-1 in World Series Game 3.

Ross' one-out homer to left-center field at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington was his fifth of the postseason and came off Rangers starter Colby Lewis, who had all but shut down San Francisco to that point.

San Francisco reliever Jeremy Affeldt took the mound in the bottom of the seventh. After giving up a one-out single to Elvis Andrus, Affeldt got Michael Young to ground into a double play, the third double play turned by the Giants in the game.

The Giants won the first two games of the World Series at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
