USC football: Lane Kiffin puts Trojans through conditioning for Oregon

As USC players arrived for a 6 a.m. workout Tuesday, Bob Marley‘s ‘Three Little Birds’ blasted over loudspeakers.

‘Rise up this mornin’/smiled with the risin’ sun...’

Coach Lane Kiffin amped up the pace of all drills and added practice-ending sprints to help prepare the Trojans for their Oct. 30 game against top-ranked Oregon, which plays at breakneck speed.

‘We have to find a way to make sure we’re in really good shape for this marathon two Saturdays from now that’ll be at a sprinters pace,’ Kiffin said.

Receivers coach John Morton, offensive line coach James Cregg, defensive backs coach Willie Mack Garza and linebackers coach Joe Barry were absent because they were recruiting.
