The Kings said Wednesday afternoon that defenseman Johan Fransson, who was signed to a one-year contract in June, has been loaned from the Manchester (N.H.) Monarchs of the AHL to the Russian team SKA St. Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League.

The transaction comes one day after the Kings activated Viatcheslav Voynov and assigned him to Manchester. Voynov had been recovering from a shoulder injury.

The 25-year-old Fransson, who was born in Sweden, has played in the Swedish Elite League since 2002.
