Former Oaks Christian standout Jimmy Clausen’s career as a starting quarterback in the NFL has been put on hold.

The Carolina rookie has been benched after completing only 47% of his passes with one touchdown and three interceptions in his three starts for the winless Panthers, who have scored a league-low 52 points and have the worst-rated passing game in the league.

Clausen has also fumbled seven times, losing three. Matt Moore will return to the starting job he lost after turning the ball over six times in the first two games of the season.
