Ducks announce roster for their opener Friday at Detroit

The Ducks have announced their season-opening roster. They placed forwards Joffrey Lupul (blood infection) and Jason Jaffray (knee) on the injured reserve list and designated defenseman Toni Lydman (double vision) as an injured non-roster player.

A club spokesman said Lydman accompanied the team on its trip to Detroit, Nashville and St. Louis so he might be getting closer to being able to play.
