The Clippers got their roster down to 14 players, waiving forward Marqus Blakely on Monday. He got into action in two preseason games, averaging four points and nine minutes.

This means veteran center Jarron Collins, who came to camp on a non-guaranteed contract, will be sticking with the Clippers. Clippers vice president of basketball operations Neil Olshey gave him the word shortly after practice. The Clippers open their regular season on Wednesday against Portland at Staples Center.

‘Neil told me just to be ready Wednesday night,’ Collins said. ‘I’m very excited obviously to get an opportunity to play for my hometown team, and be a part of something special. Turn the ship around, so to speak, and getting back to the playoffs. I’m very excited to be part of that and I’ll do my part to get us where we want to be.’
