New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady emerged unscathed from a car accident Thursday morning and was expected to attend a team practice later in the day.

The two-car accident occurred three blocks away from Brady’s home in Boston. A passenger in the other vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries after having to be freed using the Jaws of Life.

The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. EDT when emergency crews responded to reports of an accident between an Audi sedan being driven by Brady and a minivan.

The accident, which was confirmed by the Patriots on Facebook and Twitter, remains under investigation.

Witnesses told the Associated Press that Brady retrieved some items from his car and made a series of phone calls before being picked up in another vehicle.

Brady is expected to be under center when the Patriots play in their season opener Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
