Kings set lineup for home exhibition debut Thursday

Goaltender Jonathan Quick and the new defense pair of Drew Doughty and Willie Mitchell have been listed in the lineup for the Kings’ split-squad game against Phoenix at Staples Center on Thursday, the team’s first appearance on its home ice in preseason play.

The Kings play at Denver Wednesday night against the Avalanche and will send another split squad to Phoenix for a game Thursday against the Coyotes. Coach Terry Murray will coach in Denver and fly back to Los Angeles to be behind the bench at Staples Center on Thursday.

Scheduled to be in uniform Thursday are:

Goal: Quick, Martin Jones.

Defense: Doughty-Mitchell, Rob Scuderi-Jack Johnson, Jake Muzzin-Johan Fransson.

Forwards: Ryan Smyth-Anze Kopitar-Dustin Brown; Kyle Clifford-Brayden Schenn-Oscar Moller; Richard Clune-Trevor Lewis-Wayne Simmonds; Dwight King-Andrei Loktionov-Brandon Kozun.
