Jonathan Bernier is scheduled to start in goal again Thursday at Phoenix in the Kings’ split-squad game against the Coyotes’ split-squad team. He was the winner Wednesday in the Kings’ 4-2 decision over Colorado in their exhibition opener.

Jonathan Quick is scheduled to start the other split-squad game for the Kings on Thursday night at Staples Center, against the Coyotes’ other split-squad team.

Confusing, but there it is. That’s exhibition hockey.

Also expected to play at Phoenix are the lines of Alexei Ponikarovsky-Brad Richardson-Bud Holloway; Jordan Nolan-Jarret Stoll-Justin Williams; John Zeiler-Corey Elkins-Kevin Westgarth and Ray Kaunisto-Rob Czarnik-David Meckler.

The defense pairs are scheduled to be Davis Drewiske-Peter Harrold; Andrew Campbell-Thomas Hickey and Alec Martinez-David Kolomatis. Jeff Zatkoff will be Bernier’s backup.

The game at Phoenix will be on radio. The game at Staples Center will be streamed live at LAKings.com and FoxSportsWest.com

It will all be simpler when the season starts...
