September 15, 2010 |  5:09 pm

The Kings' rookies lost the finale of a two-game tournament against their Phoenix Coyotes counterparts, falling, 7-1, Wednesday at Glendale, Ariz.

Jordan Weal scored the only goal for the Kings' prospects, who won Tuesday's game in a shootout. Goalies J.F. Berube and Garrett Zemlak took the pounding. According to the box score, the Kings were 0 for 4 on the power play and the Coyotes were four for five.

Next up for the Kings is the main training camp. Players are due to report to El Segundo on Friday for physicals and will take to the ice Saturday at 9 a.m.

[UPDATE: Maybe because of that 7-1 loss Wednesday, the Kings' rookies are now scheduled to practice Thursday at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The session will be open to the public.]

The Ducks' rookies are finishing the Young Stars tournament in Penticton, Canada, with a game against the Vancouver Canucks' rookies. We'll have an update on that game later. The Ducks also open their main camp this weekend, with players reporting for physicals Friday and skating at Anaheim Ice on Saturday.
