No surprises among Kings’ cuts

A day off the ice turned into cut-down day for the Kings on Friday.

The first round of moves contained no surprises. Thirty-seven players will return to practice Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

Assigned to Manchester of the American Hockey League:

Centers--Justin Azevedo, Robert Czarnik, Corey Elkins and Michael Pelech.

Left wings--Zach Harnden, Dwight King and Jordan Nolan.

Right wings--Bud Holloway, Brandon Kozun and David Meckler.

Defensemen--David Kolomatis, Patrick Mullen.

Goaltenders--Martin Jones, Jeff Zatkoff.

Assigned to Ontario (ECHL):

Goaltender Garrett Zemlak.
