The Angels will simply be playing out the schedule over the next week. But their offense appears to have gone home a long time ago.

And that worries Manager Mike Scioscia.

“You better believe it’s a concern,’ he said after watching his team manage just three hits after the second inning of Sunday’s 4-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox, the team’s fourth consecutive setback.

‘The offensive side of our game is something we’re going to look at very closely. We’ve been as poor in the situational side of hitting as I’ve seen, of any team I’ve been around. And we’re definitely going to look at that very closely.”

The Angels are batting .210 in September -- only the Dodgers have done worse this month -- and averaging 3.6 runs a game, third-worst in baseball. The Angels were two for nine with runners in scoring position Sunday and in their 80 losses, they are hitting .177 with runners in scoring position.
