Angels fire scouting director Eddie Bane

The Angels have cut ties with scouting director Eddie Bane. Bane's contract expires after this season and will not be renewed, team communications director Tim Mead has confirmed.

Bane had been with the organization since 2003, overseeing a departement responsible for drafting and developing such highly regarded prospects as Jered Weaver, Kendry Morales, Nick Adenhart, Hank Conger and Mike Trout.

Bane recently interviewed for the position of general manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks but did not get the job. Angels General Manager Tony Reagins was not immediately available for comment.
