Sparks hire Mike Levy as president

The Sparks announced Tuesday that they have hired Mike Levy as team president.

Sparks_310 Levy has worked for the NBA, Major League Baseball and the NFL, and has over 25 years of sports and entertainment experience.

"We're thrilled that someone of Mike's caliber is joining our organization," Sparks co-owner Kathy Goodman said in a news release. "His wealth of knowledge and breadth of experience in sales and marketing will certainly be an asset to our team."

Former Sparks President Kristin Bernert resigned in June after she said she lost her passion for the job.

The Sparks (10-18) are in fifth place in the Western Conference, half a game behind fourth-place Minnesota and a game behind third-place San Antonio with six games remaining. The top four teams from each conference advance to the playoffs.

The team will face the Indiana Fever on Tuesday at Staples Center at 7 p.m.
