Peter Bourjos led off the sixth inning of Monday night’s game against the Seattle Mariners with a solo home run to center field at Safeco, ending a string of 31 innings in which the Angels did not score a run. The franchise record for consecutive innings without a run is 33, set in 1963 and 2004.

Bourjos’ second big league homer gave the Angels a 1-0 lead, and Bobby Abreu’s two-out solo homer in the sixth made it 2-0 and Hideki Matsui followed with a two-run shot to make it 4-0. The Angels hadn’t scored since the first inning of Friday night’s game against Baltimore. They were shut out by the Orioles in losses Saturday and Sunday.
