When most of us hear the name MC Hammer, we immediately think of this:

But that could change if Hammer is successful in his latest endeavor as CEO of Alchemist Management, a marketing and management company officially launched last week specifically for a roster of MMA fighters.

According to AOL Fanhouse, those fighters include Nate Marquardt, Vladimir Matyushenko, Tim Kennedy and James McSweeney.

‘It’s just over the years I watched the world of MMA grow,’ Hammer said on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour on Fanhouse. ‘It’s really exciting. I don’t see anything more exciting today than MMA and it got my fire stoked.’

Hammer is no stranger to the world of sports. He made several appearances on the sidelines of the Atlanta Falcons after they adapted his single ‘2 Legit 2 Quit’ as their theme in 1991. He has been involved in thoroughbred racing and was briefly boxer Evander Holyfield’s manager during the 1990s.

And in case you’re worried, he is still rapping and has no intention of giving up his music career any time soon.

‘The last month-and-a-half I’ve probably done around 15 shows,’ he said. ‘That’s my way of staying physically fit and of course, I love doing music.’
