Lisa Leslie’s No. 9 jersey will be retired during Tuesday’s Sparks game against the Indiana Fever at 7 p.m. at the Staples Center.

Leslie, a three-time league MVP and four-time Olympic gold medalist, retired in 2009 as one of the most celebrated women’s basketball players to have ever played the game.

She led the Sparks to back-to-back championships in 2001 and 2002, and is the league’s leading rebounder (3,307) and second leading scorer (6,263).

Leslie is the second player in franchise history to have her jersey retired at the Staples Center behind former player and current Sparks general manager Penny Toler.
