Eric Holmes wins NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race in Montana

Eric Holmes, a driver from Escalon, Calif., won the inaugural NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Montana Raceway Park on Saturday night.

Holmes started seventh and took over the lead from David Mayhew on lap 113. Holmes led the last 38 laps of the race.

Greg Pursley, a Canyon High of Canyon Country graduate, won the pole and led the first 18 laps of the race.

Mayhew, a driver from Bakersfield, finished second, followed by Moses Smith from Tempe, Ariz., in third.

Holmes, the leader in the West Series standings and a two-time West Series champion, won his third race of the season.
