Angels place Maicer Izturis on disabled list

The Angels have placed infielder Maicer Izturis on the 15-day disabled list because of inflammation in his right shoulder, an injury he suffered while diving for a base hit against Boston at Fenway Park on Thursday night.

To replace Izturis on the roster, the Angels called up reliever Jordan Walden from Triple-A Salt Lake. Walden will be available out of the bullpen for Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
