Aaron Wallace Jr., a linebacker from San Diego Rancho Bernardo High School, said he will attend UCLA.

Wallace, who will be a senior at Rancho Bernardo in the fall, has picked up interest during the off-season because of his development. He is 6 feet 4, 215 pounds. He selected UCLA over Washington and Texas A&M, where his father, former Oakland Raiders‘ linebacker, Aaron Wallace Sr., played.

“The education was a big reason for my decision,” Wallace said. “That and the fact that UCLA was close enough to home.”

Wallace said how quickly he might play for the Bruins will likely depend on linebacker Akeem Ayers, who could opt for the NFL after his junior season this fall.

“The coaches said that if Akeem decides to jump to the NFL, I will have a chance right away,” Wallace said. “If he doesn’t, I will spend my freshman year getting stronger and learning the position.”
