LeBron James joined Twitter on Tuesday -- and word is getting around fast.

Publicist Keith Estabrook confirmed that ‘kingjames’ is indeed the NBA superstar. By 11 a.m. PDT, James already had 46,396 followers ... 30 minutes later, that number had ballooned to 59,236 followers.

Anyone hoping for some sort of hint as to which team the mega free agent has chosen is out of luck, at least so far. James, who had been reluctant to join such online social networking sites and had even joked in the past about how other athletes discussed their personal lives online, has yet to make a single post.

[Updated at 2:30 p.m.: James now has 119,215 followers. He made his first post about an hour ago: ‘Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building ‘Finally’. My Brother @oneandonlycp3 gas’d me up to jump on board so I’m here. Haaaa’]
