Clippers preseason: Destination, Mexico

The Clippers are going global.

Sort of.

They will be playing a preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 12 in Mexico City, the NBA announced Thursday. Tickets go on sale Friday via Ticketmaster.

"NBA Mexico Game 2010 and the appearance of NBA teams in Mexico for the 19th time shows the league’s ongoing commitment to grow the game of basketball and engage fans in the region," Raul Zarraga, the NBA's Mexicos Country Director, said in a statement. "We are thrilled that with the support of our partners, including HP and game promoter Ocesa, our local fans can experience NBA excitement live."

The Clippers have played in Mexico before, but those two games, on back-to-back days, were in 1994.
