Looking for some help on offense, the Angels went back to one of their former minor league farmhands, trading today for Kansas City infielder Alberto Callaspo.

Callaspo, 27, who has played third base and second base for the Royals this season, is batting .275 with eight home runs and 42 runs batted in.

In exchange for Callaspo, the Angels sent recently promoted right-hander Sean O’Sullivan to the Royals, along with Double-A left-hander Will Smith.
