The tarp has just been removed from the infield at U.S. Cellular Field as a rain delay that has postponed the start of the Angels’ game against the Chicago White Sox enters a second hour.

The rain started shortly before 6 p.m. local time here and has slowed considerably since a couple of heavy downpours forced the Angels to cut short their batting practice. The game is now scheduled for an 8:45 p.m. CDT start.

The Angels could use the extra time to regroup following a shaky showing Monday in which nearly the entire team lost track of the outs during the fourth inning and remained on the field for nearly a minute after the inning ended.

Angels Manager Mike Scioscia said the lapse in focus had been addressed. ‘Some things have been discussed,’ he said.

The Angels also surrendered four home runs during the 9-2 loss to the White Sox, their third defeat in four games.
