If anyone wants to know what perfection looks like, it’s the 6-year-old mare Zenyatta, who remained unbeaten Sunday, rallying to barely get past St Trinians and win the $250,000 Vanity Handicap at Hollywood Park for her 17th consecutive victory

It was another stunning performance by a horse that has won all her races coming from way back. This time, she was in sixth and last place in the 1 1/8-mile race, had to rally five wide around the final turn under jockey Mike Smith and overhauled St Trinians near the finish to win by a half length.

Zenyatta now owns the longest winning streak in the modern era of thoroughbred racing for a top-echelon horse.
