World Cup: U.S. goalie Tim Howard is OK to play against Slovenia
U.S. goalie Tim Howard was examined by team medical staff Monday and is expected to play Friday against Group C Slovenia.
Howard is making "substantial improvement" after a collision with Emile Heskey in Saturday night's 1-1 draw against England, U.S. Soccer said in a statement. The medical staff determined no further tests will be needed on Howard's bruised ribs.
The United States is tied with England for second place in Group C.
