Versus, home of major cycling events, the NHL playoffs and IRL racing among other sporting events, is adding minor league baseball for a day.

The cable network will have live coverage Thursday of last year’s No. 1 baseball draft pick Stephen Strasburg, the pitcher from San Diego State, as he makes his final minor league start for the triple-A Syracuse Chiefs against the Buffalo Bisons. The game begins at 10:05 a.m. PT.

The play-by-play will be called by Ben Wagner, ‘Voice of the Bisons,’ while veteran Buffalo broadcaster Duke McGuire will do the analysis.

Strasburg signed with the Nationals for $15.1 million -- shattering the record payment to a draft pick -- and is scheduled to make his major league debut on June 8 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
