Mike Stanton set to make major-league debut at age 20

At 20, Mike Stanton has made it to the major leagues. Stanton was a three-sport standout at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High, and now the Florida Marlins have decided to promote him from double-A ball. He will join the team on Tuesday for a three-game series against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Stanton has become one of the top prospects in baseball. He's a 6-foot-5, 230-pound outfielder who hit .311 with 21 home runs and 52 runs batted in for Jacksonville in 52 games this season.

At Notre Dame, he was a standout receiver in football, a top forward in basketball and a power-hitting outfielder in baseball. About the only thing he couldn't do was shoot free throws.
