Mike Scioscia to serve as American League All-Star coach

Angels Manager Mike Scioscia, who has turned down numerous invitations to serve as a coach in the All-Star Game in recent years, will be part of New York Yankees' Manager Joe Girardi's American League staff for the July 13 All-Star Game in Angel Stadium, Major League Baseball has announced.

Girardi also named Oakland Manager Bob Geren as one of his coaches, and Angels athletic trainer Ned Bergert will be on the AL staff. Philadelphia Phillies and National League Manager Charlie Manuel appointed San Diego Manager and former Angels pitching coach Bud Black as a coach, as well as San Francisco Manager Bruce Bochy.
